PHOENIX — Several crews were called to a hospital in Scottsdale, Ariz., after a piece of equipment that connects to a CT Scanner broke on Sunday, resulting in a chemical spill.
Brian Read with the Scottsdale Fire Department said the spilled material at Scottsdale HealthCare Osborn Medical Center has been contained, and that it was isolated to the room in which it occurred.
Tempe and Phoenix fire crews also responded to the incident.
Read later said the substance was found to be benign, and that it posed no immediate threat. He said the hospital is back open and accepting patients in the Emergency Department.
