Authorities arrest 8, seize 100 pounds of marijuana in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Eight people were taken into custody Tuesday in connection with a suspected drug deal in west Phoenix. About 100 pounds of marijuana was seized by authorities.
Bart Graves with the Arizona Department of Public Safety said the bust happened in a grocery store parking lot at 91st Avenue and Thomas Road.
“Four were taken by (customs enforcement), four are in our custody for investigation into the possession of marijuana. We did find about 100 pounds of marijuana on location,” Graves said.
The street value of the marijuana is estimated at $500,000.
