PHOENIX — A kitchen at the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown Phoenix is buzzing with activity.
Dozens of Salvation Army volunteers are preparing a Thanksgiving feast to feed the Valley’s hungry.
“We’re preparing about 3,500 meals for Thanksgiving which we will serve here or be delivered to homebound individuals,” said volunteer Phil Reinhardt.
The meal consists of the traditional holiday fixings, including turkey, home-made gravy, mashed potatos, rolls and pie.
“It’s delicious, a meal I wouldn’t mind serving at home,” said Reinhardt.
In Arizona, 1 in 4 children, 1 in 5 adults and 1 in 7 seniors face hunger every day.
