PHOENIX -- Multiple armed law enforcement officials were seen in downtown Phoenix Monday as part of a drug investigation.

The Gilbert Police Department said a narcotics team was carrying out a drug-related search warrant but did not provide further details.

Reports came in just before 2 p.m. that armed police officers were seen in the Park Central area near Thomas and Central.

Several loud booms were heard in the area.

Multiple witnesses said arrests were made. Gilbert police did not confirm that.
