PHOENIX -- A woman has died after being caught in an apartment fire early Monday morning.

Phoenix Fire found Teresea Parkmon, 45, around 3 a.m. on the second floor of the apartment near Southern and 11th avenues. Parkmon was found in bed and was taken to a hospital with severe burns. She died after several hours.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries in the blaze, which was contained to the one unit.

Cause of the fire is being investigated.
