PHOENIX — Rather than wait for Mother Nature, Sunrise Park Resort has been making snow and will open in a limited capacity this weekend.
The resort’s beginner runs will be open, as will mid-mountain areas, a cafe, the ski school and shop starting Saturday. The facility will close Sunday evening and reopen Nov. 29.
A powerful storm is expected to dump several inches of snow in the mountains.
The lifts and facilities will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on these days with lift ticket prices at a reduced rate because of the limited open terrain.
Arizona Snowbowl will open Nov. 29.
