KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A Kingman man is facing aggravated assault charges accused of spanking his daughter and chopping off her hair as punishment.

Mohave County sheriff's deputies arrested 30-year-old Jason Lloyd Hartwick after responding to a domestic dispute earlier this week.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter said Hartwick's wife told deputies she got upset with her husband after learning he had cut her daughter's hair.

The 10-year-old girl told authorities she hit her eye when Hartwick pulled her off a chair. She also reported being spanked with a shoe.

Carter said Hartwick told deputies nothing happened other than an argument.

Hartwick was booked into the Mohave County Jail on Tuesday.
