PHOENIX -- Northbound Interstate 17 was reopened in Phoenix Wednesday after a police situation closed the highway.

Police said a suicidal person threatened to jump on to the roadway. Negotiators were able to convince that person to come down.

The freeway was closed at Indian School Road. The on-ramp from Indian School was also closed.

The highway reopened about 2:20 p.m.

The person has not been identified.
