ORO VALLEY, Ariz. -- A freak accident in a Tucson suburb killed a 31-year-old woman who was run over several times by a truck she was helping repair.

Oro Valley police said Nichole McAlister was helping a friend repair a truck in a store parking lot Monday evening when she inadvertently shifted the vehicle into reverse as she stood by the driver's door.

McAlister was knocked down and the truck backed over her. The truck stayed in gear and continued to back up in a circular path and struck McAlister twice more before the friend could stop it.

Police Lt. Kara Riley said that it appears McAlister's death was an "unfortunate tragedy."
