DOLAN SPRINGS, Ariz. -- Authorities in northwestern Arizona say a 9-year-old boy allegedly threatened to bring a soft-air gun to a Dolan Springs school so he could shoot a teacher.

Mohave County Sheriff's deputies say they met with the boy and his mother on Thursday. They've submitted a juvenile referral on the boy for threatening and intimidating charges.

Authorities say they learned a Mount Tipton Elementary School student told another boy on the bus ride home Wednesday that he planned to bring a soft-air gun to school because he was mad at an unidentified teacher.

Deputies say they confiscated two soft-air guns, but it isn't immediately clear if they were in the boy's possession or where they were found.

The name of the boy hasn't been released.
