Nevada man is convicted in Arizona sex case
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Nevada man has been convicted by a federal jury in Tucson in a sex case involving an underage girl.
Prosecutors announced Thursday that 39-year-old Keith Deshawn Anderson, of Las Vegas, was found guilty on four counts of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
Prosecutors say the evidence at trial showed Anderson transported a juvenile girl multiple times from Arizona to Nevada and engaged in statutory rape in 2011 and 2012.
Anderson is being held for sentencing, which is scheduled for Jan. 21.
Prosecutors say a conviction for transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity carries a minimum mandatory term of 10 years in prison up to a life prison term.
