PHOENIX -- Bond is set at $20,000 for a Casa Grande man who allegedly led authorities on an hour-long, high-speed chase through city streets and neighborhoods west of Phoenix in a stolen luxury car.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 19-year-old Austin Mathew Straps had his initial court appearance Thursday.
He doesn't have an attorney yet. His next scheduled court date is Nov. 20.
Straps is facing charges of burglary, unlawful flight and aggravated assault on law enforcement officers.
Authorities say the driver of the BMW ignored red lights, cut corners while speeding through turns and recklessly passed several other vehicles.
After an hour of erratic driving, the man bailed out of the car near 107th Avenue and Happy Valley Parkway and ran into a home, where he was arrested around 11 a.m. Wednesday.
