PHOENIX -- A man accused of trying to grab a teenage girl at a Phoenix bus stop and chasing after her with a baseball bat has pleaded not guilty.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 38-year-old Tommy Andrade entered his plea Tuesday. His next court date is a Dec. 20 initial pretrial conference.
Andrade is accused of two counts of attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
Phoenix police say the 14-year-old girl saw the suspect holding a bat and sitting on a bench Oct. 25.
The girl told police Andrade reached out and tried to grab her hand as she walked to the bus stop.
She ran away and Andrade allegedly followed her with the bat.
The teen flagged down a woman driver, who pulled over and let her get into the car.
