Arizona official Ken Bennett to kick off race for governor
PHOENIX -- Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett planned to formally announce Tuesday his candidacy for governor.
Bennett has been exploring a run for the Republican nomination for months and even said in September that he would be a candidate. He has formal campaign kickoff events set for Tucson, Phoenix and Prescott.
Other Republican candidates include treasurer Doug Ducey, Christine Jones, state Sen. Al Melvin, John Molina and former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas.
Next year's primary election is set for Aug. 26.
