PHOENIX -- An impaired driver crashed into a DUI task force vehicle, injuring a Pinal County Sheriff's Office canine.

Amanda Leyvas, 22, of Casa Grande, was arrested for driving while impaired by alcohol, aggravated assault and criminal damage after hitting the passenger door of a patrol vehicle Sunday.

Leyvas and a passenger, Terry Sigarroba, 23, also of Casa Grande, were uninjured.

The police dog was taken to a veterinary clinic as a precaution.
