TEMPE, Ariz. -- Tempe police have released their final report on the beating of an Arizona State University student at an off-campus apartment complex.

Police said the 19-year-old student had a blood alcohol level that was almost four times the legal limit after a night of heavy drinking. He told police he couldn't remember anything about the fight or what led up to it.

Three men were arrested on charges that stemmed from the beating, including Kiernan Bates.

According to the report, Bates told police the student walked into his apartment drunk and refused to leave, thinking it was his own. Bates said he and two friends took the student to the elevator, which is when he got violent.

Surveillance video showed the young men making contact with the student in the lobby before forcing him into an elevator.
