PHOENIX -- Authorities said a Peoria man has been arrested on charges of molesting a foster child over the past decade.

Maricopa County Sheriff's officials said 61-year-old Bruce Melvin Peacock was arrested Thursday at his workplace in Phoenix.

They said he's being held without bond on suspicion of three counts each of molestation of a child, sexual conduct with a minor and sexual abuse.

Detectives with the Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit said they were alerted to accusations of misconduct in late September.

They said the 16-year-old victim told her school counselor she had been touched sexually by her foster father.

During the investigation, detectives said they learned Peacock allegedly had sexual contact with the girl since she was 6.
