GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Police said a 78-year-old woman is missing from her home in the Phoenix suburb of Goodyear under suspicious circumstances.

Police said detectives found evidence that indicated possible foul play, including a heavily damaged garage door, at the home of Hellen Jean Lee.

Police went to the home late Wednesday after Lee's daughter, who lives in Tucson, reported her missing.

Lee's grandson, Jason Howell, was arrested in Chandler Wednesday. He is considered a person of interest in the case but was arrested on unrelated charges. Howell lived with Lee in a house near McDowell and Litchfield.

Police allege that Howell stole a vehicle from Kyrene Del Cielo, located at 1350 N. Lakeshore Dr., about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. A 12-year-old girl was in the back but jumped out of the vehicle.

Howell was later spotted by a police officer and pulled over. He allegedly rammed a police cruiser multiple times and the stolen vehicle was disabled.

Howell was charged with grand theft auto, aggravated assault on a police officer, felony flight from law enforcement and aggravated DUI.

Lee's van was later found a few blocks from where Howell allegedly stole the car.

Police were directed to a specific spot in Gila Bend where they found a body. Lisa Kutis with Goodyear Police said there is a "good chance" the body is Lee.

Lee is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds. She has hazel eyes and brown hair.
