PHOENIX -- A Chandler man accused of drugging his former girlfriend and branding his initials on her genitals has pleaded not guilty.

Maricopa County prosecutors said 49-year-old Christopher Lynn Jackson entered his plea Wednesday.

Jackson was arrested last month on suspicion of aggravated assault.

His ex-girlfriend told authorities that Jackson had drugged her after they attended a baseball game and she later woke up in pain and saw Jackson holding a branding tool and butane torch.

Court documents show that Jackson is said to have told authorities that he branded his initials onto the woman's body to represent that he "owned" her.

Investigators reported finding a branding tool and butane torch in Jackson's house.

Jackson's next court date is Dec. 18 for an initial pretrial conference.
