GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Three men are in custody in connection with a burglary and about $40,000 in damages at a Goodyear church.
Goodyear police say the suspects were arrested after officers responded to a separate 911 call Wednesday morning.
The men were seen running from an unoccupied home.
Police say they found property that had been stolen from nearby Desert Springs Community Church as well as graffiti similar to that found in the church.
Police say profanities and hate crime symbols were spray-painted at the church during the burglary which occurred sometime between Oct. 16 and 17.
They say the suspects also damaged walls and other property inside the building.
Detectives believe at least one additional suspect still is at large in the case.
