PHOENIX — A hazardous material situation closed Hayden Road in Scottsdale Thursday morning.
David Pubins with the Scottsdale Police Department said a 20-year-old woman was seated at a bus stop near Hayden and McDowell roads when a gallon-sized jug was tossed out of a passing vehicle. The jug contained some sort of powder that got on the victim.
The victim rode the bus to her place of work near 90th Street and Shea. She chose to walk to SHC Shea hospital from there.
The victim was treated for neck irritation.
Initial tests showed the material was not hazardous. Samples have been sent to a lab for further testing.
During the investigation, Hayden Road was closed for about two hours.
