PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- Authorities say three members of the same family, including a 9-year-old girl, have died in an accidental collision in Prescott.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says that 23-year-old Julianna Hersh and 9-year-old Jess Hersh were declared dead at the scene Wednesday morning. Thirteen-year-old Jeremiah Hersh died at a Phoenix hospital.

Officials say that a fourth family member, 15-year-old Joseph Hersh, was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center and is expected to recover.

Investigators responded around 7:50 a.m. and found the Chino Valley family's Chevrolet had somehow collided head-on with a Subaru on Outer Loop Road.

Sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn says the Subaru was driven by 63-year-old Elaine Anderson, the lone occupant. Anderson is expected to survive.

D'Evelyn says investigators are still trying to piece together the cause.
