PHOENIX — Sen. John McCain may be nearing 80, but don’t count him out of a 2016 reelection run just yet.
On Tuesday, McCain spoke to Phoenix radio station KFYI-AM, and according to The Washington Post, he was upfront about running for a sixth term, saying:
“I’m seriously thinking about maybe giving another opportunity for you to vote for or against me in a few years from now.”
When show host Barry Young asked him to clarify if that meant he would run again, McCain replied, “That would not be wrong.”
During the recent government shutdown, McCain said that in his five terms as a senator, he “[had] not seen” anything like the partisanship currently plaguing federal politics.
