Ex-metro Phoenix teacher sentenced in child-porn case
PHOENIX -- A former elementary school teacher in the Paradise Valley School District has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in a child pornography case.
Thomas Warner also must serve a lifetime probation on two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.
Warner had pleaded guilty to the charges in May. He received his sentence Friday in Maricopa County Superior Court.
His arrest in February 2012 came after detectives from the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a warrant for child pornography at his home. Authorities said they found thousands of pictures and videos of underage boys.
Warner had been a fourth-grade elementary school teacher at the time of his arrest.
