CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Two assistant police chiefs in Scottsdale are among six finalists for the job of Chandler police chief.

Chandler officials announced Thursday that John Cocca and Sean Duggan are in the running for the job.

Surprise assistant police chief/executive officer Don Schneidmiller also is a finalist.

The other three are Missouri City, Texas Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald; Riverside, Calif. Assistant Police Chief Christopher Vicino; and Larry Black, police chief and interim public-safety director in Davis, Calif.

Chandler officials expect to fill the post by the end of this year.

Candidates will be interviewed the week of Nov. 4.

Chandler began a national search after Sherry Kiyler retired in June. She had been Chandler's police chief since 2004.

Assistant chief Dave Neuman is serving as the acting police chief.
