Vandals damage church in west Phoenix suburb
GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Goodyear police said vandals did extensive damage to a church overnight.
Police said Thursday the damage to the Desert Springs Church included spray painting of profanities and hate-crime symbols.
"It's a lot of profane material and symbols and it's all over the inside of the buildings," said Goodyear Police Lieutenant Scott Benson.
An initial estimate on repair cost is $20,000.
