PHOENIX -- Several people were injured Wednesday after an SUV driver allegedly ran a red light and collided with a light rail train.

"We had one SUV that appeared to have been t-boned by the light rail," said Phoenix Fire Capt. Ruben Saavedra. "[There was] significant damage to the SUV."

In total, seven people were injured in the crash. Three were transported to the hospital, one of which was the 57-year-old driver of the SUV. She was designated a trauma patient.
