PHOENIX -- Phoenix police responding to a home invasion early Tuesday instead found a large amount of marijuana.

A police spokesman said two or three suspects tried to break into a home near 31st Avenue and Beardsley Road about 2:30 a.m.

Officers found the marijuana when they entered the home to see whether anybody else was inside. The man could face charges.

A neighbor had called police.
