PHOENIX -- A 2-year-old found floating in a backyard swimming pool in west Phoenix has died.

Phoenix Police said the girl died at a local hospital. A spokesman said the toddler and her family were visiting a home at Camelback and 63rd avenues Sunday. Adults at the gathering lost track of her before she was discovered in the pool.

When Phoenix Fire arrived, a family member was performing CPR.

A fire department spokesman said the child had been in the water between five and 15 minutes. There was no fence around the pool.
