PHOENIX -- A 38-year-old Phoenix man who police named as a suspect in the death of a maintenance worker has surrendered to authorities.

Phoenix police spokesman James Holmes says Daniel Lee Cook turned himself in Monday afternoon.

Police say Cook and 22-year-old Richard Bankston had been fighting at a north Phoenix apartment complex Sunday. The two fell into a swimming pool before getting out and continuing their fight.

Witnesses then reported seeing Bankston being struck with an object.
