GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Authorities in Goodyear say they've arrested a man suspected of growing more than 100 marijuana plants in his home.

Goodyear police said Friday that 55-year-old Kenneth Ruppel is being held without bond.

They say he faces the possibility of five felony drug charges.

Ruppel was arrested at his home Wednesday and was the subject of an ongoing investigation by Goodyear police.

A patrol officer reported smelling marijuana at the home and that led to a search warrant being served.

Along with the 113 marijuana plants, the Goodyear narcotics team reported finding a quarter-pound of marijuana and 1 gram of methamphetamine.

Police didn't immediately know Friday if Ruppel has an attorney yet.
