No verdict yet in Prescott murder trial
PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- A Yavapai County Superior Court jury in Prescott will begin its second full day of deliberations Thursday in a stockbroker's murder trial.
Jurors deliberated on Wednesday after closing arguments concluded Tuesday in the trial of Steven DeMocker.
Prosecutors contend DeMocker bludgeoned his ex-wife to death with a golf club because he was deep in debt, wanted the insurance payment and didn't want to pay alimony.
Prosecutors don't have any direct evidence linking DeMocker to the 2008 death of Carolyn Kennedy, but they said circumstantial evidence tied him to it.
Defense attorneys tried to deflect suspicion away from DeMocker and toward a man who lived in Kennedy's guesthouse but who has since died.
DeMocker's first trial ended in a mistrial in 2010 after his defense team quit.
