Report: Phoenix ATM fees among nation’s highest

PHOENIX — Getting money out of an ATM in Phoenix is reportedly more expensive than doing so in many other cities.
According to bankrate.com, the average ATM fee in Phoenix is $2.89, the second-highest in the nation.
Phoenix finished 35 cents above the national average of $2.60.
Overall, the city with the highest ATM fees was Milwaukee at $2.95.
Houston, Cincinnati and San Francisco rounded out the top five, respectively.
Bankrate questioned banks in 25 cities about charges incurred by one generic noninterest account and one interest-bearing account.
