GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. -- A woman who died while on a private rafting trip in the Grand Canyon last week has been identified.
Grand Canyon National Park officials on Tuesday confirmed that the victim was 67-year-old Mary Simpson.
Park spokeswoman Kirby-Lynn Shedlowski says officials were called about the death on the Colorado River last Wednesday.
No other details have been released yet.
Simpson's name was withheld until her relatives could be notified.
The Mohave County Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
