GILBERT, Ariz. -- A man and his wife have been arrested in connection with a string of robberies in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Gilbert police say 30-year-old Luke Broeker and 27-year-old Shannon Broeker were taken into custody Tuesday at a Mesa motel.

Police say the two are suspects in a string of 10 robberies since August.

Five of the robberies were businesses in Gilbert with three others in Mesa and two in Chandler.

Police say Shannon Broeker reportedly was present for many of the robberies along with the couple's four sons ranging in age from 1 to 6.

They say the couple is facing multiple counts of robbery along with charges of having children with them at the time of the alleged crimes.

Authorities don't know if the Broekers have a lawyer yet.
