BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies said a 22-year-old woman is dead after an altercation at a party near Buckeye.
Deputies told local TV news Cassandra Gonzalez was among five to eight friends and a 3-year-old child at her home early Wednesday. Deputies said Gonzales decided it was time for the party to end and there was an altercation. Gonzalez went into the house and grabbed a shotgun then argued with a man in his 20s as he was getting into his car.
The toddler was in the back seat.
The man pulled out a handgun and shot several times after telling Gonzales to drop the shotgun. She was hit multiple times.
Three people have been detained for questioning but no arrests have been made.
