FLORENCE, Ariz. -- The Pinal County Sheriff's Office said it will ask prosecutors to charge a 25-year-old Maricopa man with manslaughter in connection with an accident in which his 6-year-old son was killed.

The Sheriff's Office said Jose Espinoza and his 6-year-old son Isaiah weren't wearing seat belts and that both were ejected from a pickup truck in the Friday evening accident.

According to the office, the pickup veered off a road and then flipped and rolled after the driver attempted to steer back onto the roadway.

Espinoza was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries. The office said he has not been arrested pending results of tests on blood samples.
