PHOENIX -- A judge on Monday set a trial date for an Arizona woman charged with murder in the disappearance of her 5-year-old daughter.
A local news report said that Judge Rosa Mroz of Maricopa County Superior Court set a trial date of Aug. 4, 2014, during a pretrial conference for Jerice Hunter.
Her lawyers have spent months reviewing evidence handed over by prosecutors.
Glendale police claim Jhessye Shockley was killed and her body put in a Tempe trash bin before Hunter reported her daughter missing on Oct. 11, 2011.
The 39-year-old Hunter was arrested last September. She has maintained she is innocent and has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and child abuse.
