Obama nominates 4 for federal judgeships in Arizona

PHOENIX -- Current and former prosecutors and two serving judges are among four Arizona lawyers nominated by President Barack Obama to fill U.S. District Court judgeship vacancies in the state.

Obama's nominees include Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Douglas L. Rayes and federal Magistrate Stephen Paul Logan.

Obama also nominated Diane Humetewa, a former U.S. attorney for Arizona and currently a lawyer for Arizona State University, and Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney John Joseph Tuchi.

The presidential nominations are subject to confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
