PHOENIX — Sorry, folks. You have to leave the ferrets at home when you go out to eat in the Valley.
According to UPI, the ban on the critters went in to effect Friday along with hundreds of other laws.
Friday, the 90th day since this year’s legislative session was adjourned, marked the day 256 new laws took effect in the state, including the ferret ban, which stems from efforts to narrow the number of species considered “service animals,” Capital Media Services reported Monday.
The ferret ban was part of a bill that sought to limit the types of animals that can be claimed as service animals.
Arizona now only recognizes dogs and miniature horses as service animals.
