MESA, Ariz. -- Four Maricopa County vehicles at a county maintenance yard in Mesa were set on fire early Tuesday morning.

A sheriff's spokesman said deputies going on duty at a nearby facility at about 4 a.m. observed the fire, called the Fire Department and detained a person they found at the scene.

Deputy Joaquin Enriquez said arson detectives were en route to determine how the fire was set.

The burned vehicles included a sheriff's SUV and three vehicles used by other county agencies.

Further details are not immediately available.
