An armed man suspected of involvement in a kidnapping has surrendered to Scottsdale police Wednesday after an hourslong standoff at an apartment.
A spokesman said the suspect inside a unit near Miller and McDowell roads gave up without further incident. He is wanted for questioning after two people told police he had kidnapped them overnight and held them in the apartment. They said they managed to escape after one of them texted a family member, who then notified police.
Police have blocked the neighborhood on Miller from McDowell to Roosevelt Street.
