FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- A flash flood watch has been issued for much of Tuesday for large parts of northern and central Arizona.

The National Weather Service said the watch will be in effect from 11 a.m. through the evening.

The watch area includes Flagstaff, Payson, Prescott and Winslow. Phoenix and Tucson are south of the watch area and are not included.

According to the weather service, recent rainfall across northern Arizona has saturated the soil in some areas and additional rainfall is expected Tuesday across much of northern Arizona.
