PHOENIX — The Valley was pounded by a rainstorm on Monday, prompting residents to pull out their phones and cameras and upload their view of the rain to YouTube.
The videos showed just how varied an Arizona storm can be: Some show a steady shower while others show a downpour complete with a near-river running down a neighborhood street.
Phoenix police said officers handled over 160 traffic hazard calls during the day. Power was also knocked out to about 1,000 Salt River Project customers.
Flooding and crashes also wreaked havoc on Valley freeways.
