PHOENIX -- Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton will be in China next week to meet with leaders of nearly 1,600 fast-growing companies.
The president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Barry Broome, also will be making the trip to Dalian, China.
The World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions is the foremost global business gathering in Asia.
Also known as the "Summer Davos," participants will share strategies and solutions regarding global issues and risks in business development and sustainability.
Stanton will serve on a panel with world government and business leaders to discuss "Strategic Shifts in Urban Ecosystems," including examples of how Phoenix is building a sustainable future.
Stanton's office said he's the only U.S. policy leader who has been invited to take part in the World Economic Forum.
