WILLCOX, Ariz. Three adults and four children have been rescued after getting lost in a desert area southwest of Willcox.

Cochise County Sheriff's officials say the children ranged in age from 8 to 11.

The children and a 32-year-old man were airlifted out of a dry lakebed area about 3 a.m. Friday and were reported to be in good health.

Authorities say a 33-year-old man and his wife were rescued about 10 p.m. Thursday near railroad tracks.

They say the two men and the children were stranded when their vehicle broke down.

The 33-year-old man called his wife for help but her vehicle also broke down and she got lost.

The man left his children and his friend to find his wife.

The names of the adults and children haven't been released.
