Raids cap undercover drugs-guns investigation in Phoenix
PHOENIX -- Phoenix police and other law enforcement agencies conducted multiple predawn raids Wednesday morning, capping a lengthy gang-related undercover investigation.
Spokesmen for the state Department of Public Safety and federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms said officers and agents executed warrants at an apartment complex near Interstate 17 and Glendale Avenue, related to illegal drugs and firearm sales.
A Phoenix police spokesman said the joint operation involved criminal activity at the apartments.
Phoenix police have planned a news conference later in the morning.
