PHOENIX -- Officers from both the Tempe and Phoenix police departments continued to investigate Tuesday a shooting at an officer near Tempe.

Phoenix police searched a second-floor apartment near 45th Street and Broadway Road, where they believe shots were fired at a Tempe officer Monday night.

Tempe Sgt. Mike Pooley said a patrol officer stopped a vehicle in 4500 block of East Wood Street. Shortly thereafter, an unknown person fired at least two rounds at the officer from a window of a house.

The officer was not injured and never returned fire.

There is still no suspect.
