TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities say charges are pending against a driver in connection with a road-rage incident with an off-duty Tucson police officer.

Pima County Sheriff's officials say 38-year-old Eric Santos ``deliberately rammed and pushed the officer's vehicle'' Wednesday night on Interstate 10.

The unidentified police officer was heading home in an unmarked vehicle and reportedly nearly collided with Santos' pickup truck.

After the near miss, authorities say Santos closely followed the officer through the downtown area and onto I-10.

The officer slowed his vehicle to exit the freeway when Santos allegedly rammed the vehicle.

Authorities say Santos' car then collided with another vehicle and he was taken by ambulance to a Tucson hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
