PHOENIX -- Records show the former head of the Arizona Board of Executive Clemency voted to consider commuting the sentence of NBA player Amare Stoudemire's half-brother after developing a personal relationship with the New York Knicks player.

Jesse Hernandez resigned last week after an internal investigation concluded he repeatedly committed inappropriate behavior toward employees and also promoted a woman he was dating.

The records also show Hernandez bragged of befriending Stoudemire and receiving game tickets.

The investigation was completed a week before the commutation vote.

Stoudemire's half-brother, Marwan Williams, was sentenced in Marciopa County Superior Court to 9 1/2 years in prison in 2009 on armed-robbery charges.

The vote was first reported by The Arizona Republic. Gov. Jan Brewer's spokesman said her staff reviewed the report as quickly as possible before meeting with Hernandez.
